The First SJSA’s Classical Music Creative Summer School

August 16, 2021. 16 km of the Pokrovskoe highway, Yakutsk. The Sakha Junior Science Academy Summer Classical Music Creative School had a Grand Opening Ceremony in the concert hall of the V.A. Bosykov Higher School of Music of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) (Institute). A 10-days school funded by the Future Generations Fund of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).

Children from 11 regional art schools have applied and were assigned to different study groups. Every participant will pursue an individual development program agreed with tutors and music consultants.

Leading Russian educators and musicians will give music lessons, live concerts, masterclasses. All this time, the children will stay on the territory of the Higher School of Music.

Rector of the Higher School of Music Ms Nadezhda Zaikova thanked the Sakha Junior Science Academy of Yakutia for organising the school. Ms Zaikova noted the role of the First President of the Sakha Republic His Excellency Mikhail Efimovich Nikolaev in the establishment of the High School of Music and the Sakha Junior Science Academy».

Famous concert pianist, professor of the Bolshoi Theater Academy, associate professor of the Petr I. Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory, laureate of many international competitions Denis Chefanov played the Chopin’ Scherzo in B-flat minor, Op.31.

«Today is an inspiring day for us. The Sakha Junior Science Academy has turned a new page in its history associated with classical music. Musical giftedness is the highest form of creativity and speaks of the harmonious organisation of cognitive processes. Its identification among our children is one of our priority tasks,» said Dr Vasilii Pavlov, rector of the Sakha Junior Science Academy of Yakutia.
